Brian is the associate vice chancellor for research infrastructure and operations. He is responsible for day-to-day operations, management, and oversight of several key components of our research enterprise: research management services; government and business contracts; environment, health and safety; and laboratory animal resource center.
The long-term goal of my laboratory's research is to enhance understanding of human allergic disease through a combination of basic investigation in animal models coupled with translational approaches in patients with allergic diseases, including food allergy, atopic dermatitis, and asthma. Approaches in model systems include the use of genetically modified reporter/deleter mice coupled with cellular and imaging approaches, including intravital imaging.
As Senior Associate Director - Contracts/Awards for the Office of Sponsored Research, Jean oversees services provided by the RMS Award and Subaward teams and Government and Business Contracts.
Jean joined UCSF in 2013. She has a B.S. in Environmental Science from the University of Missouri-Kansas City and over 15 years of experience managing and negotiating complex contracts and proposals for nonprofit research organizations. Prior to joining UCSF, Jean worked at the University of Kansas Medical Center Research Institute and MRIGlobal.
