Marge O’Halloran brings over 26 years of UC experience to her new role as the Director of Research Management Teams. With her diverse experience at UCSF, including staff nurse on the adult inpatient oncology unit, Director of Administration for the Cancer Research Institute, Director of Administration in Laboratory Medicine and most recently, as the Associate Chair of Administration in the Department of Anesthesia, we are very excited to have Marge take the lead for the first Pre-Award Cluster. Her comprehensive experience includes successfully leading her staff and faculty with professionalism, integrity and compassion. The breadth of her dedication to the UCSF community can be seen in her work with the ABOG Mentorship Committee as a committee member and as a mentor, as well as being the recipient of the highly esteemed Holly Smith Award in 2009.
When asked what she was most looking forward to in her new role, Marge said, “I appreciate this new opportunity to work closely with our outstanding faculty and our dedicated, talented staff in support of our research mission.”
When asked what she envisions being her greatest challenge, Marge said, “My biggest challenge will be to ensure that UCSF researchers receive pre-award support that is consistently high quality, professional and responsive. The relationship that our Research Service Coordinators will have with PIs will be a primary focus of our organization.”
